Hello! My name is Miyah Saeyang and I'm a Korean and Iu-Mien student at UC Berkeley studying Anthropology and Journalism. I have interests in many topics including ethical and sustainable food practices, traditional and indigenous knowledge of health and healing, and education funding for low income students! As an Anthropology major, I think learning about diverse cultures and telling the stories of people whose perspectives are not often heard are extremely important. I believe journalism is one of the most direct and impactful ways to do that. In this class, I hope to learn more about how different forms of media can be used to communicate stories and pass on knowledge to grasp the attention of a wider audience. While I feel pretty confident in my writing, I also hope to learn more technical skills in photography and video.
